The Purple Archers have grown into more confident individuals and becoming more independent. Our fieldtrip in Manila Zoo exposed them to the different animals they learned in school. One of the Purple Archer’s new experiences is getting in touch with nature. It was fun seeing them discover things that will help them to be aware of other living things.
We learned about the moon, sun, star and the Earth. They are now more familiar with weather conditions like sunny, cloudy, rainy, windy and snowy days. They are thrilled with activities like cutting, pasting, coloring and painting. Everyday, we try to bring out the best in each child, learning and laughing with one another, enjoying each other’s company. It has been 10 months of fun-filled-learning experience. It has been a good ride! Looking back, the kids have really developed not only physically but also emotionally and cognitively too. We thank you for entrusting your precious ones to us. They will remain truly special to us.

LALC Teachers train with Scholastic
The Scholastic people visited our school last February 16, 2008 to conduct one of the many training workshops aimed at giving our LALC teachers an overview of the Scholastic Literacy Program that the school is adapting for the next school year. The teachers had fun interacting with each other and trying out the numerous materials provided by the program. This early, we are already excited for our next batch of Little Archers to use the books and manipulatives. We shall be having more of these workshops to ensure that we could maximize the potential of our teachers in giving quality education for your children.

Teacher Noni Receives MA in Applied Theology
Our LALC Program Director, Teacher Noni Odulio, received his Master of Arts in Applied Theology from the De La Salle University last February 9, 2008. Teacher Noni will use his research for his degree to craft the LALC Values program that is centered on the Filipino value of “Kapwa”.

Teacher Melody:

We commenced the year by blasting off to space using our imagination.  The Blue and Green Archers wanted to explore more about space that they asked for more books about it to read.  Independent reading is one of the marked developments seen in this class.  The handwritings of the Blue Archers have improved from writing letters to writing words; they could even spell some words on their own!  The Green Archers on the other hand, can now write their names in script and write sentences with a little help.  Math time is fun time for us with the many activities we had to sharpen our skills in adding and subtracting.  I’m proud of their transformation in character as well.  My Blue Archers are ready to move up, ready for more.  I shall miss my Green Archers but I need to let them go, shooting them like arrows equipped with what they need to reach the stars. I wish all of our Little Archers Godspeed!

Teacher Anina:

It’s the last term for the Yellow Archers. They’ve learned so much and bonded so well with each other that it was sad to know that they have to part.  They learned about adjectives, identified rhyming words, and practiced writing their names well. They had a grand day during the field trip, exploring new places and having fun at the same time. In the midst of learning about the stars, moon & sun, friendships were formed, which made the whole school year an unforgettable one. It’s not the end but rather a beginning of something big for our Yellow Archers.
